Chalk Paint® Workshop - Color Lab
Saturday, August 24: 11 am to 1 pm
Irvington, VA

Mixing and combining paint is easy if you know how color works. In addition to reviewing the fundamentals of painting, in this two hour class we will learn the basics of Annie's Color Wheel, how to make new colors and how to change the tone of her colors by making them paler, darker, warmer, or cooler. The possibilities are endless. You will be playing with all her colors on sample boards.

Outside In

Durable and classic, vintage wrought iron furniture is built to last and can be used outside or brought inside.

Long prized for its sturdiness and craftsmanship, wrought iron outdoor furniture is bent and hammered into shape by hand — unlike mold-made cast-iron items, whose parts are bolted together.

Wrought iron will rust, so, you can sand it down and re-paint.

Or, simply apply a varnish when it gets to just the right distressed look, such as these vintage urns.

Do you like vintage wrought iron furniture too? We have several lovely vintage wrought iron tables at the shop - stop by.

White Rooms

Darryl Carter gives some of his top paint tips:

White Rooms Allow Antiques To Feel Modern - A beautiful antique piece of furniture could very well be lost in a wallpapered room. Carter uses neutral paint not only to showcase antique elements, but to add an avant garde touch. “People often tell me that my rooms are very modern,” he says, “but generally they are populated with a lot of antiques.”

Use White To Create Contrast - White walls can be the very best color to showcase primitive architectural elements. The truest white can give a room a modern touch allowing antique wood furniture to shine and shed light on it's beautiful texture and patina.

Revamp Old Pieces With Paint - “I have redefined so many things in my house with a coat of paint,” says Carter.

Use White To Create Contrast - White walls can be the very best color to showcase primitive architectural elements. The truest white can give a room a modern touch allowing antique wood furniture to shine and shed light on it's beautiful texture and patina.

We couldn't agree more!
Get your white on at Brocante Home Collection.

We also carry both of Darryl's books on decorating.
