4 Steps to Great Looking Bookshelves By Ann Carpenter

If you’re like me, these snowy days have left a lot of time to tackle indoor decorating projects. One quick and inexpensive update for your home is rearranging bookshelves.

Here are 4 simple steps to make your library handsome and functional:

Step 1. Remove all books from the shelves and sort by size. Take this opportunity to dust both shelves and books. You might also consider painting the backs of the shelves. Select a shade deeper than your wall color to suggest shadows and depth.

Ready to snuggle up with a good book?  Here are two of my favorite French Style books by one of my favorites, Josephine Ryan.  She offers a glimpse into the private homes of those who share a pasion for French style - just like us - n'est-ce pas?  Both books are in stock now -  get ready for the next snow storm!

Second Chances....

If there is anything better than the unconditional love of a pet, it is the love of an adopted pet.  They seem to know that they are being given a second chance, don't they?  As you know, I volunteer at the local shelter and always have stories about the cats that I take care of.  I would like to take time to share a few photos with you of one very special cat, "Willa", who is looking for her second chance.  If you might be interested, please visit the Northumberland County Animal Shelter on adoption days, Wednesday and Saturday, between 9:30am and 2pm.  The phone number is 804-580-6156.  We would be happy to introduce you to "Willa" or any of the many wonderful cats and dogs there.  Merci!
