Totally loving the Lush Look recently cropping up in the shelter magazines and at the furniture markets! Maybe time to update my look....

My new palette...

The pinstripes on these chairs for my 
library are subtle and very masculine!

Oh - how about this ikat for the DR chairs.

Two of these will look great under my
French Pine Table.

Ann thinks this coffee table would finish 
the look.

This is for all you gals (and guys) who want to learn the basics of using 
THE BEST PAINT IN THE WORLD. 

I will demonstrate how to paint, wax, distress, mix colors (and waxes) to give you that fabulous patina that ASCP is famous for. Even if you have painted with ASCP before, I have a few tips up my sleeve.

2012 Design Classes

We have a full schedule of classes this Summer, including several on Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and the newest in decorating tips from Ann. All classes will be on Sunday from 11-12 (the shop will be open after). 

May 6 - Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - The Basics

I will take you through the basic steps to achieving that beautiful chalk paint patina.

June 3 - Accessories - The Jewelry of a Room

Learn how the right accessories can energize a space and finish off a room.

July 8 - Techniques for Waxing and Distressing with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
Learning how to properly apply wax after painting and the technique for two color distressing. 

August 5 - Annie Sloan Chalk Paint

Now that you've been painting with ASCP, I'm sure you have questions - and we have the answers.

September 9 - Mastering Eclectic Style

How to mix shapes, textures and styles in a cohesive color scheme.

November 4 - Holiday Decorating
What will be our inspiration for Holiday Decorating this year?

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

 

Barbara, Jill and I had a blast at the ASCP Workshop in Leesburg on Saturday - there were over 200 attendees at the Tour! We learned lots of techniques for painting that we can't wait to share. So get your paint brushes ready. 

I have all the colors at the shop, including the newest, Antoinette, and some great new tips for painting.

Design Classes begin in May - I'll be posting the schedule shortly. In addition to Painting with Chalk Paint, we will have inspiring decorating classes led by Ann of Ann Carpenter Designs. 

Gimmee Shelter

Solstice came to shelter just recently and has already stolen our hearts with her one blue, one green eyes! The Northumberland Animal Shelter is open for adoption on Wednesday and Saturday from 10 - 2. And, you don't have to be a resident of the county to adopt. The shelter is run totally on donations, so if you can't adopt, then please consider donating. Click HERE to donate safely online.
