Get The Look

I came across this photo in a recent design magazine and loved the look of the distressed shutters as backdrop for the table. I love the combination of the old and new - the vintage desk, window and French bistro chair offset by the unexpected element of the shutters. This is a room that is both functional and whimsical. The lamps are pretty cool too! I'll show you how to get the look using items found at Brocante Home:

Gimmee Shelter

Say hello to "Otis", my newest boy - I adopted him from the Northumberland Shelter this week. We have so many kittens at the shelter that we are really straining our resources. Please, if you are interested in adopting a cat, now is the time! Many, many cats and kittens are available and need good homes NOW! Adoption hours at the Shelter located in Burgess, VA are Wednesday and Saturday from 10am to 2pm or call Fran at 435-2597. The shelter's phone number is 580-6156. There is an Otis waiting at the shelter for you.

Summer Update...

Welcome Summer to My Home!

Ann and I have been busy bringing a little sunshine to my home for summer. You remember last year how we "re-decorated"? Well, we've added a few items for summer to show how easy it is to change your home when you start with a neutral palette, our signature look of Brocante Style.

Just a few simple additions - pillows, new silk curtain panels, candles and some fresh flowers. Let me know what you think!
